A big loss, but are we cold hearted for not being sentimental? Now you can live in the moment! It really is a drag, to feel like you have to preserve, protect, organize and <em>display</em> thousands of photos. Even if you do it digitially, it's a big chore. And I don't even have kids to consider. It does feel like a catch 22, because you want them to have something to look back on, but then i guess the best guide is how you feel. So much of this sings true to my being. I just lost the 4,000+ photos of my kids over the last 5 years and all I did was say "thank god, now I don't feel like I have to make photo albums anymore!" haha! What a release. Yes, stuff is heavy to ones spirit. I always loved moving since that meant getting rid of everything except what fit in a duffle bag.....ahhhhh. Your words are inspirational and lovely.
